Membership Categories

Active Membership: Persons who are currently working in the health care industry providing activities/recreation.
 a. Shall be entitled to vote
 b. May hold office
 c. May attend meetings and workshops
 d. May chair and serve on committees
 e. Shall receive association publications
Associate Membership: Individuals interested in the field of activity programming in the health care industry or supporting the activity profession.

 c. They shall receive association publications
Student Membership: Is granted to an individual who is currently in a college or university in a field related to the population we serve. A discounted membership will be granted for the first year only. Verification of enrollment with instructor`s signature and a completed membership application with payment must be sent to CAPA.
Benefits of Membership
Peer support through regularly scheduled chapter meetings including educational sessions. Discounts on workshops, NAP Day and Annual Conference. Membership card, Membership listing, Access to the member's only section of the CAPA web site, and a bi-monthly newsletter "The CAPA Connection" published on this web site. Membership pins after one year of active service. Annual CAPA Conference and other periodic workshops offering educational opportunities from statewide and nationally acclaimed professionals. CAPA networks with other state/national organizations. CAPA serves as the link to the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) and hosted the 1984 and 2000 NAAP Conferences. The State Executive Board communicates with government agencies on policies and regulations relating to Activity Programming, and provides input regarding desired revisions.
Suspension of Membership
The State Executive Board upon recommendation by a member has the right to revoke the membership of anyone who has, in any way, violated the Bylaws or Code of Ethics of this association, pending investigation and review of the facts.
