Mepap Training
- The Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) at the Arapahoe Community College.
- This is the only class offered in Colorado and is the quickest way to get qualified per tag 249 requirements.
- It is great for anyone even if they are already qualified or are in adult day programming or assisted living for solid activity training.
- By declaring a degree, you may also be eligible for financial aid.
- Primary Instructor: Amy Goeglein, CTRS, ACC. Questions regarding qualifications and certification: Amy.Goeglein@kindredhealthcare.com or 720-27-4638. She is the District Director of Quality of Life Services for Kindred Healthcare in Denver. She has consulted Activity Directors for 4 years and is passionate about advancing the profession of activities in the State of Colorado. She chairs the Activities Council for CHCA and sits on the State Executive Board for CAPA.
- Qualified guest speakers assist with pertinent topics in their field of expertise.
- The course is taught in a “seminar” format. Three days at a time once a month for 4 months, August-November.

- Completion of this course can be used for certification or rectification with the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals http://www.nccap.org .
- Completion of this course also qualifies an individual according to the OBRA Regulations for those employed or wanting to work in a skilled nursing facility.

- Include name and phone number.
- Preferred method is via email attachment to the connection editor.
- A typed hard copy will be accepted.
- The deadline for articles will be the 10th of January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Who We Are
- The Colorado Activity Professionals' Association (CAPA) is comprised of those professionals who work primarily in geriatric settings; Retirement, Assisted Living, Adult Day Programs, Senior Centers, and Long Term Nursing Facilities.
- CAPA is a regional association of Activity Professionals that draws its members from Colorado.
- In addition to practicing Activity Professionals, other members include students, volunteers, entertainers and supporters.
- A State Executive Board of officers and chapter representatives governs CAPA.
- Other members of the board include liaison and resource persons and committee chairpersons.
- Officers are elected from the chapter representatives.
- Eight geographic chapters have been established throughout the state to meet the needs of all activity professionals. (Boulder, Denver, Eastern, Northeast, Northern, Southern, and Western)
